Sites worth a visit :

The city of Lourdes  is less than one hour away.

Other sites of interest : the Mauvezin castle and the Pau castle

The Cistertian Abbay of l’Escaladieu and the cathedral of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges

The gouffre d’Esparros, with its unique gypsum shapes sculpted by underground water

The caverns of Labastide and Gargas

The Jardin des sortilèges (unique plants are available in this mountain garden)

The « montagne des marmottes » with many animals, including wolf and bear

The astronomic observatory of the «  Pic du midi de Bigorre »

Biking :

The area is a paradise for bikers : many small and quiet roads through the countryside, and for the well trained bikers, the famous Pyrénées passes are 1 hour away by car : Tourmalet, Aspin, Peyresourde, etc…

Hiking :

The Pyrénées are 1 our away by car and offer a wide variety of trails : from easy (2 hours climbing) to tough (5 hours climbing).

Many wonderfull mountain lakes are within one to two hours hiking.

The regional « Néouvielle » park and the National Pyrénées Park are within 1 hour driving

The famous Brèche de Roland and Cirque de Gavarnie can be visited in a one day hike

Skiing :

In winter (January to March , usually), it’s possible to ski in the Pyrénées resorts of Saint-Lary and La Mongie (one hour by car) and other smaller resorts in the area


Riding :

Some riding clubs in the area offer various options, including horse treks or donkey treks in the mountains

Fishing :

Fishing is possible (license needed) in the rivers or in mountain lakes.
